Beginning LOA & Self Love
When I first started wanting to change my life around at the end of 2014, the first book I read was The Law of Attraction by Abraham-Hicks. I’m sure a lot of us who study and practice the law of attraction started there! Eventually it came to talk about Self Love and the importance of feeling and believing that you are WORTHY of your desires. This was such an astounding lesson for me and it has lead me to where I am today.
It was absolutely game changing. Not only because I was learning how to purposefully attract good and positive things to me but I was learning to love myself, which I had not even realized I wasn't doing! (which is why three years later here I am running this blog!)
So it is my belief that if you are new to the law attraction, that Abraham (and Esther) Hicks is the best place to start. That book exploded my life (in the best way possible!)
And now, I bring to you:
The Top 5 Abraham-Hicks Quotes About Self Love.
1.) “If you're not selfish enough to want to feel good, then you can't connect with the energy that is your Source which does always feel good.”
Meaning without feeling good about yourself, there’s no way you can vibrate at a positive level to attract good things. Hating yourself is a crappy feeling, trust me, and nothing good comes from it; only negativity will be attracted to you.
2.) “It is my dominant intent to be good to me.”
Meaning love yourself first. Take care of yourself first. Make your #1 intention to be good to yourself and just naturally you will be able to help and be good to others. We can't give to others from an empty cup, as the usual metaphor goes, but it is true. It is not selfish, it is necessary. If you have kids, or a family, or if you are a caretaker of any kind, or if you just spend your time putting out fires for others, you are giving all of yourself to them and draining yourself. You will not feel good about you if you are drained, and you won't be able to give if you are drained. So make time for you!
3.) “All we are asking is that you shine the light of love and respect on yourself and that you give yourself more of a break.”
Meaning, don’t be so harsh with yourself. Mind your self talk - keep it positive. It’s a conversation with the universe! Good thoughts bring good vibes and good vibes bring good things! I used to chide myself all the time, and call myself stupid or dumb or anything else, whenever I would do something wrong or I’d make a mistake or I’d do any manner of little thing. No wonder I was miserable!! So watch what you are saying to yourself (sometimes we don't even realize we are doing it, so pay attention from here on out!) and go easy on yourself and forgive yourself.
4.) “People will love you. People will hate you. And none of it will have anything to do with you.”
Meaning how others treat you is a direct reflection of how they feel about themselves (and vice versa too!) It has nothing to do you and is NOT worth your inner peace! Just send them off with love and forget about it. I work with the public and not everybody I come across is very nice (this is very small percentage though). Sometimes they are downright rude! But I just brush it off because it has nothing to do with me. Don't nobody got time for that!
5.) “Self love is the driving, motivating factor. It is the inspiration. It is the thing. It is the ultimate calling.”
Meaning self love is where it’s at! Take good care of you! Love yourself first. When you love yourself, you know you are worthy. When you know you are worthy, you actually go out and do things, and you when you actually go out and do things….you are living life. And isn't that the point?!
